Weird Red Lines
« on: March 24, 2013, 07:08:38 pm »
Sometime I will load a building or whatever. I will see that enemy npc have a white line showing when they are not aware of my presence and I have a picture of two bosses with red lines targeting me.

I am pretty sure I am not supposed to see those lines. I don't EVER use tab targeting period. I find that mouse aiming is sufficient for my needs.

I don't have a reliable way of reproducing this issue. It has been on and off for a while since I own AVWW. As soon I killed the entire room and move to the next it was gone.

Not a bug! Those happen when you are in stealth missions, or when you use gear that has a stealth rating of more than 50. It's mentioned in the in-game tooltips but every so often someone gets confused about it. All is well! The idea is to use this to stay out of detection range of the enemies, who are extra strong in the stealth missions.

Cheers!

Even normal non-boss npcs while on a stealth assassination mission with zero stealth gears?

Hmm Now I have a question; Where do I go on the AVWW wiki to find out what each stats on gear does?

I killed that boss in several shots so not much of "stealth" feeling to it  >D. To be fair although that boss was level 1 with vulnerable to light spell and I had level 2 light spell.

Yes, a stealth assasination mission you are supposed to dodge the regular mobs and kill the boss.  The boss is weak, while the rest of the enemies are strong.  It tells you this in the description of the mission before you start it.  ;)

The wiki doesn't have much, because in-game there is pretty much everything there.  I believe it tells you this directly in the encyclopedia, or in the case of equipment mainly it would tell you in the tooltips.

Once you reach the boss, you've basically won: it's a stealth mission to reach him in the first place, with pumped-up monsters all the way through until you reach him, and he's about 10x weaker than usual.   Again noted in the mission description. :)
