I guess my issue is its so easy to hit with. You can move forward and fire and you'll hit things comin in at an angle or overhead without needing to aim. If you jump while shooting forward (or just occassionally angle up) you can really clean house without needing to aim, whereas the straight shot spells require more lining up the shot.

That's true, and that's a more generalized issue with those blast shots.  Nothing new to this release.  How about if we reduce the range and increase the power on them slightly?  That might make them more shotgun-like.

Sure!

And yeah, I've had an issue with blast spells in general feeling too strong for awhile.

Oh, one other bit of feedback. I think that the recent cooldown change was the best single change made to date. It's elevated the gameplay to another level for me. Before, the gameplay was a bit staccato, now it feels a lot more like a smooth legato. Much more responsive. It's much closer to the feel of a classy shooter rather than just a typical one.

Okay, lots of good notes.  Thanks for the clarification on your position on calibers, Misery, I had thought you were much more negative on them.  And thanks for the kind words on the cooldowns, Pepisolo. :)

It seems like we are all mostly on the same page.  I'll be doing another release momentarily, with the following caveats:

1. We'll see how things are with the calibers, and we'll see what we need to further refine balance-wise.  Some things may be a little too powerful or underpowered now, but we'll see.

2. Regarding the bomb speeds, lets give these a go at their new speeds, too.  I think these still require skill, but they don't require quite so much patience.  That's the bit I'd like to improve.  But the timing may still not be right, or we might wind up going back to 3 seconds.  But I'd like to give this a spin anyhow, and I don't think it's going to be obviously-broken this way to new players, so I'm not worried about it being something that we experiment with.

Cheers!
