Urban Crawlers

I haven't seen one since v1.2. I have been searching Abandoned Towns (and I guess adjacent squares). Am I looking in the wrong place, or is this a bug? I've noticed the downed spacecraft now spawn in Abandoned Towns too. Could these be replacing them? Regardless, it appears that unless I track down and dispatch 30 of the elusive buggers, my settlement shall never be complete.

I killed one once but have since forgotten where it was, though I suspect it was a mission, and what it looked like. I haven't been looking for them but I've never run it one either during the times I've wondered around in an Abandoned Town, which is admittedly not very often.

In v1.1 they were large vehicles that looked like beige AMVs and had a few points from which they took damage if I recall correctly. You'd get 1-2 per "screen" within Abandoned Town regions. Pretty much the same frequency as those down spacecraft, which incidently I don't recall having seen spawn alongside urban crawlers.

Hmm, I remember having real problems with these guys a few versions back. But that was in 1.2, so I mean beta-releases.

That description sounds familiar. Guess I'll have to take a look to see if I can find any more of them some time.

If they really have disappeared completely, have you considered making a mantis bug report? I kind of doubt they were meant to be as rare as your experience makes it sound in the only region they spawn in.

I had, but then I noticed that the town building achievement on Steam had massively leapt up in number of accomplishers, so I assumed I may have missed it somewhere. Where did you see yours Giegue?

I've just recently encountered a few more in the abandoned town area. that seems to be their native habitat
