Am I wrong in thinking that there already exists a GUI element to indicate which spell is currently selected for your main attack? And that you can scroll this indicator along your ability bar to change which spell your primary attack key triggers?

It strikes me that if I haven't imagined that feature then it should be relatively trivial, and no less intuitive, to have a mode where a hotkey press jumps the selection indicator to the relevant ability slot.

If I am imaging that feature, on the other hand, then you may disregard the above!

Correct. That's why I also said there isn't much to add. The current implementation could use something more obvious though, and it scrolls the left and right mouse button (and I think the rest as well) at the same time, which is very confusing.

Having an icon of the spell under your glyph would also do wonders for awareness in this scheme.

Not to be, you know, doubtful/paranoid, but I'm asking Totalbiscuit on Twitter if he's actually owning either of these accounts.

Yuppers, I think that's wise.  I treat everyone at face value until they give me a reason not to, but still.  It's not like the fake TB was asking for credit card numbers or steam keys or something.  So in the end I'll talk to impersonators just like I would anyone else, to a point.  But it certainly would be preferable to know the truth, I'll grant you.

I'm sorry, but the guy strikes me as too busy to involve himself on any particular forum. I should have asked him when the first guy impersonating him came on, he sounded off to me. And quite frankly, if your impersonating TB, you need to get a life. Seriously. TB doesn't need his fanbase covering him, he can handle himself.  And if I'm wrong and the 2nd TB account is the actual real account, my apologies, but until I get verification from him, you'll excuse me if I take what either account says with a giant grain of salt.

I wouldn't be surprised if neither one of them is real.

Second one is fake for sure. Real Biscuit would know the difference between its and it's.

After thinking about #2's post there, I'm inclined to agree with you. TB doesn't make more than 1 video normally on games he does WTF is... and for him to mention that'll he make more than 1 AVWW vid seems unlikely to me.

Oh well, let us continue the conversation along as though they didn't exist.

He did it for Starfarer.

I did, but keep in mind that Starfarer is still in Alpha.  With finished games, I tend to not do followups.  There is something to be said for releasing a game in a good working state and first impressions count for a lot.  But if a developer makes an honest effort to improve their product enough that I feel it deserves a second look, then it's certainly an option.

Second one is fake for sure. Real Biscuit would know the difference between its and it's.

No one is perfect.  Cheers for pointing out the mistake, though.

TB did not answer any of the several seperate Twitter requests for identity confirmation. That's a pretty clear answer.

Note: He has done follow up videos for Tribes: Ascend every update. He really likes that game and wants it to succeed and, most importantly, change the FPS genre.

Just wanted to say my earlier post on page 3 was just kidding around, I respect totalbiscuit a lot for like 95% of his opinions and the work he does with the WTF-is series. If he hadn't brought my attention to the game I wouldn't be here playing it and talking about it.

He's still terrible at video games though :P

His comments about it being "clunky" and whatnot also annoyed me, having played the game for several hours, bought it, then played it for several more I find the movement/combat to be extremely fluid, the only thing that is clunky are the animations, how all the sprites have only one frame for whatever they're doing (except for the human running animation as far as I can tell) and there is no transition between them at all. Aside from that the only problems I've found with the game are horrible screen tearing forcing me to enable vsync and disable the custom cursor, which makes it hard to see the cursor in a lot of places.

Well I imagine if I saw somebody impersonating me I'd want to sign up to tell people not to think that guy is me. Even if I was really busy.

Why can't TB casually browse forums?....I imagine he gets SOME free time. (besides it's in the interest of research :p)

Back onto the control thing, have a mode where hitting 5 would move the selected spells box to slot 5(so left mouse would be slot 5 right mouse would be slot 6) would work just as well to duplicate the Terraria mode of play.

TB? Free time? Are you joking? That guy works even in his sleep, for the most part. He explained it in a "Mailbox" a while back.

Also, as a side point, the first Totalbiscuit sounded more like the cynical brit I know. The second seemed rather flat in comparison. However, to state my opinion, I personally think both of them are fake. As far as I know him, TB would feel no need to go onto a random indie forum (even though it's one he likes) to defend himself. TB rarely feels the need to justify or defend himself, so it all feels rather odd tbh.

If it was him he would have answered on Twitter.
