Time of Magic and Medieval NPCs?
« on: May 06, 2012, 11:00:11 pm »
I'm almost done with my first continent, and have unlocked most NPC types, save for Time of Magic NPCs and Medieval NPCs. What region type do I have to use the scroll on to locate and save these NPC types?

I *believe* they come from The Deep.

Which you cant get to in the first continent.  It'll unlock and probably appear on the second.

The map tiles for The Deep look alot like the tiles for abandoned towns, except they're black instead of green.

Time of Magic NPCs can be found in deciduous forests and medieval ones I think are found in swamps, but I am not 100% percent sure.

This is correct, as far as I can tell.

I have no idea if ANYONE can be rescued from The Deep...

I'm not certain but I think medieval npcs can be rescued from both the deep and the swamps.

Yes, Medieval NPCs can be rescued from the Deep on Continent 2; I've done it.  (Personal recommendation: do it early on if you can, before your CP boosts your continent tier too high.)  I don't know about Time of Magic, though.  I assumed it was/is probably Continent 3+, especially after doing a rescue mission in the Lava Flats and getting a Lizard Person--er, Draconite.  (And then being disappointed that that wasn't the "Time of Magic" NPC referred to.)

It's the Deciduous Forests, which are Contenient 3 and onwards only.

Were you as disapppointed as I was there there's no unlock for rescuing a Draconite?  Once you get that single Draconite you rescued...that's it.  If he dies, you have to rescue another one.  They're not selectable characters at respawn.

I'd suggest putting that on the Mantis Idea Tracker and suggesting making them selectable, if you aren't familiar with it (please forgive me if you are). Arcen is constantly doing minor rebalancing like that and is very likely to make the change if players support it.  If you haven't used it, there's a link on the front page of arcengames.com in a green box on the side, I think. Possibly orange. Then post a link to the ticket here and people will go vote for it!

There are already a couple of tickets suggesting this, I believe.

Here's the first one I found. http://www.arcengames.com/mantisbt/view.php?id=7597

This is going to sound really stupid if I'm wrong, but are you the Nethellus who used to create really cool stuff in Spore?
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.
