The 1.002 Enchant Dropping (A query)
« on: April 27, 2012, 11:09:12 am »
"Most enchants, when dropped, are instead (after player confirmation) "reabsorbed":

- Reabsorbing an undroppable enchant gives you 10% progress towards the next enchant, but this process completely and irrevocably destroys the reabsorbed enchant. There is no way to undo this, and so should only be done with enchants you'll never need again."

I have a question based on this: Does this completely stop MP Enchant Trading now?

Because if so, this and the added way that enchant canisters are no longer grouped by the server no more, so if my friend gets a canister, I don't get the %, kind of just take more out of the multiplayer aspect as it means that the game becomes less about working together unless you are in the same chunk as them.

Unless more clarity can help me. :)

I'm assuming 'after player confirmation' means that you can drop it, get a popup: 'absorb Y/N?' and just say no, then let your buddy pick it up.

I thought that too, but in reflection it could just be to confirm whether you intended to recycle it or not.

It's this. There will be no trading of enchants (save for a few types) in MP. The simple fact is that it's just too easy to exploit. BUT, all is not lost. So, say you have a new player to the server, and you want him to be your tank, so you want him to have a good body enchant. You will still be able to trade your body seeker enchant to him so that he can find a good one. Plus, he won't have to start at the lowest enchant. If you've already picked up 35 body enchants, going forward, the body enchants he does find will be as if he's already found 35 previously. So he'll be getting really good enchants.

Basically, a new player will have to do some enchant hunting, but not a whole lot.

Could that not get annoying?

Maybe it would be an idea to have it just drop by default, but if you hold a button while dropping it gets reabsorbed. (without a prompt)

But, the thing is that it doesn't drop anymore. It's absorbed or you keep it.

Quite true, but in my experience, the seekers have little effect often for me as I still got like 10 things which have nothing to do with the seeker in a row.

So maybe i'm unlucky, but I think the seeker enchants could give a higher rate, like maybe 33% or something.
