Bosses built into the room?

All the bosses so far are the kind that move around and can be placed into pretty much any of the available boss rooms.

In other side-scrolling games it's not uncommon to have bosses that are more or less built into or are part of the room they are in. I think having some in A Valley Without Wind could be a nice contrast with the current set of bosses.

Perhaps they could even have several interchangeable "parts" placed in the room that could be selected at random to provide some variety.

It wouldn't make sense for Lieutenants of course since they should be mobile so they can help the Overlord, but it would make more sense for the Overlord and Boss Tower bosses especially since the latter are put there for defensive purposes.

This is a great idea, if not for an overlord or other boss type (although it would make a pretty awesome overlord) then certainly for a new type of mission.

Perhaps not for v1.0 though.

The problem I can see with this boss is that they'd have to choose the room to put it in with care. As it is, even with mobile bosses you can sometimes find a "sweet spot" where you'll hit the boss but the boss won't hit you (by cleverly shooting around corners etc). Adding an immobile boss would only make that easier.

Then again, with some fun new shot types (homing, anyone?) it could certainly be doable!

I think it would be fun, and is something I've wanted to do as well.  But probably not prior to 1.0 at this point, I'm not sure.

It kind of feels like something similar to crashed landspeeder would make a good piece for a placed boss.

I actually found it fun jumping around trying to dodge shots when there were 2 or 3 of them. It's probably too overpowered for a regular enemy, but would be nice for a boss.

Add a extending claw coming out of a wall or floor (or some other more "physical" attack) along with a "weakspot" somewhere in the room to shoot at then you'd have what could be an interesting boss.
