I'm wondering, are these 1 block high spaces proving worthwhile at all? Before when you could double tap down to miniaturize, they were at least not annoying. But since whatever is past them might be nothing more than just some enemies or a door to an empty room or whatever, their existence seems rather pointless. And although it may sound incredibly lazy of me, fiddling with my inventory to find miniature and cast it on both sides of these passageways just seems pointless, given the above. If they could be guaranteed to have something useful behind them, maybe it would be more interesting. As is they are at best just vaguely annoying time wasters if you have the tools to deal with them, or at worst new player traps exactly like what happened here.
I know the reasoning behind adding them was to have something similar to the traditional platformer 'get upgrade, unlock new areas' trope. But in traditional platformers, without fail, those new areas also contain something that you want to get. You don't unlock new areas only to find that they are just the same as the old areas, but with an arbitrary entrance requirement. For something similar in AVWW, there would need to be a whole section made up of tiny cracks that you had to stay in mini for the whole time, while fighting against rats and giant bugs or something, and containing some unique items.
