rescue mission question
« on: April 24, 2012, 04:59:27 pm »
First let me say this game is great and refreshing ! Ilkied AI wars and based on that previous experience tried AVWW and i'm not disapointed :)

Now to the question : I'm currently trying to do a rescue mission (i've already done one earlier), and after finding the npc at the bottom of the chunk  I started getting back to the entrance, but at some point the npc stopped moving.

It was at a point where we fought some mobs, so i'm wondering if it's a bug or if npcs can die ?

edit : just tried to heal him with "healing touch", and then he opened fire on some incombing monster, so he's probably not dead, but he still refuses to move ....

Welcome to the forums! Glad you like the game!

To answer your question, yeah, NPCs can be killed in those missions. It's the glyphbearer's job to protect them!

Welcome :)

Yea, they can die; but are you saying that they just stopped moving but are still there, or that they're gone?

If they can die, but if they did you would have seen a big "DEFEAT!" message and you would have failed the mission.

It doesn't happen too often, but they can get stuck. Moving around a bit should be enough to get them unstuck most of the time.

If he somehow got stuck in the wall that would be cause for concern though.

I went all the way back to the entrance and he didn't move

Hmm, she's stuck, she's not dead. That's a bug. I'm sorry about that. Trying moving all around her and see if she'll break free.

Try exiting to the main menu and coming back in. That's fixed it for me in the past when I've run into that.
