I had a problem with the DRM on the Oblivion DLC once. Eventually I found Uniextract, which is like a super unzipper. It can extract nearly anything. So I used it on the Oblivion DLC installers, and looked in the folders it gave me, and found the data that was supposed to go on my computer and put it where it belonged. So basically I bypassed the DRM on that.

DRM in any form is evil because it heavily inconveniences the customer. Having a serial key to copy paste from an email into my game that saves me from redownloading the entire game over and over and over again is not inconveniencing me. Quite the opposite.
