I'm getting really annoyed at the fact I can't redeem this on Steam. Saying that its on Valve's end is becoming a lame excuse. On top of that the game isn't very good. I've been a huge supporter on Arcen Games but my loyalty is waning.

Uhh, it is on Valve's end. Arcen has given them what they need, it is entirely in Valve's court to get it on Steam. Arcen has no control over it.  You can email Valve's support and see what's up.

He's right, we've done all we can. What else would you like us to say? I could tell you that it's not on Valve's end, but, that wouldn't be the truth. I wish I could say something different, I wish I had more information, but, that's all there is right now, sorry.

This is amazing!  :D

Let's recap!

You're annoyed because, if I understand correctly, you're impatient to be able to activate on Steam, a game which you do not like!

Gold!

Something something.. I paid for this so something something you're a fanboy.

Your response is Platinum however!

Listen, this place is probably an echo chamber so you don't hear dissenting opinions a lot, but lots of people are unhappy with this game and it isn't helping the company's reputation.

If you take more than a cursory look around these forums, you'll see that there are plenty of dissenting opinions about the game.  Some of these opinions have led to sweeping changes in the short time since the game's release.  Much of the discussion has been rational and constructive.  Arcen has gone to great lengths to address customer concerns and implement solutions for them.  The company's reputation is quite well defended by their recent actions.  As long as you simply state that the game is bad and blame Arcen for something completely outside their control, you're not likely to get much sympathy to your plight.

Quite honestly, I really hope this isn't an echo chamber (and I don't believe that it is). We want to hear what people don't like about the game. We want to make it better, and we work pretty hard to do that, but the only way to really make it better is to get honest feedback from customers. So, if you have any ideas on how to make the game better, please, let us know!

That said, as for the Steam key issue, I ask again, what would you like me to say? We've done all we can to get this to happen, and when Steam comes through on their end, we'll let you know. But, until Steam does what they have to do on their end, there is nothing else we can do right now. I understand you are upset, but, unfortunately, there's nothing else we can do right now. I'm sorry.

I can see the Your Opinion Is Invalid Because You're A Fanboy argument taking on Godwin's Law-like proportions amongst some newcomers to this forum, so I'll reign in my mirth and give a more judicious response:

I'm fairly confident that no-one who has any familiarity with the concept of Valve Time is going to blame Arcen for it, unless they simply happen to want to fan the flames of their extant dislike for Valley.

Listen, this place is probably an echo chamber so you don't hear dissenting opinions a lot, but lots of people are unhappy with this game and it isn't helping the company's reputation.

I've said this before on who knows how many forums, and I'm going to say it (hopefully only once) here:

The negative players are ALWAYS the most vocal.

Doesnt matter what game it is.  Doesnt matter what developer or publisher.  It's a simple fact.  Gamers complain about things.... LOUDLY.   The more positive ones, the ones that really enjoy such and such game and dont have any complaints/issues often stay away from forums or from places that they may comment on the game.  Or... the positive ones might be off actually playing the game, instead of moaning about it.   Most notorious example of this is probably the Minecraft forums, where everyone just screeches at each other.

Heck, even me, I love this game, but if I'm posting on the forums, probably about 50% of the time I've either found a bug, or something is irritating me.   I dont mean to come off as negative at those times, but I probably do, as just like most other gamers I'm prone to rambling off a list of complaints.

Reviews and such that I've seen for this game have mostly been positive, and I believe it's doing pretty well for them sales-wise.

If you dont like it though, that's too bad.  It's definitely not for everyone.  But at the very least, dont complain HERE about Valve's slowness;  they ARE very, very well known for that after all, as Zebramatt points out.

And to add to this, i'm sure that the fact many people in reviews have noted that Arcen continues to update AI Wars, a 3 year old game and praise them for that, they they still have a good reputation as people know they will continue to support this.

Also, the fact that people who bought it before it's release are the main people who are waiting for it on steam shows that they do not care much for it to be on steam since they bought it off the main website before it went official, rather than steam...savvy?

So, do you need to poke Valve again as they've dozed off and forgotten?  I think it's been 6 weeks now.

We regularly remind them, it's all we can do.

I'm honestly surprised it's taken this long, the other games have had it happen much faster.  It may be that Valve is more wary of allowing registering via keys-from-elsewhere due to the variety of piracy- and fraud-related incidents that have happened with various stuff over the last couple years.

On the subject of fanboyism, I really don't want to throw any fuel on a fire, but: how do you suppose we got to have fanboys?  If you ask them, the main reason will probably be "Arcen's customer service is insanely good".  As a matter of fact, that's why I joined the company.  Do you think that reputation would have emerged if we intentionally dragged our feet on stuff like letting people use non-steam keys on steam?  A far simpler explanation of the delay is that we have no power over it.

I thought you just bought everyone off in order to get your fans. I'm still waiting on my big check, by the way.
