Reaching Ocean Shallows

Yeah, just a quick question on this, since these areas are fairly important (coral and other things), and difficult to get to.

I notice that the buoys DONT seem to have an effect on them?   They let me technically travel to them, but even if I were to surround one of these entirely with buoys, it'd still manage to be a secluded storm tile.

Is plopping a wind shelter on each one, or having a nearby on-land shelter, the only way to access them (without storms)?


I keep wondering if this is a bug or not.

Since wind shelters require non-stormy _LAND_ nearby, you can't just plop a windshelter on them either. I've always had several that are within range from nearby wind shelters though, so I've never had a problem with it.

And for coral, you can also go to an ocean chunk and start spelunking there. You should find coral there too.

I have just had this problem,

It took 6 buoys to get to the only shallow on the map. There isn't really much you can do about it i'm afraid. Luckily once you have unlocked coral there isn't really much reason to visit it again from what I can tell.

Definitely sounds like a bug then.   Which makes alot more sense.

I'll check and see if there's a Mantis thing for this one, create it if there isnt.

Possible ways the game can solve this:

 - Require at least one ocean shallow tile connected to the continent, or at least within reach of a wind shelter.
 - Or, have buoys remove wind from adjacent ocean shallows tiles.
 - Or, allow placement of wind shelters on ocean shallows tiles regardless of location.

I think the first one is the right way to do this. The 2nd one also works. The third one might lead to some strange gameplay implications, so it's my least favorite.
