Tutorial minibosses: supposed to be impossible?

They have some crazy high health and attacks.. are you supposed to skip these and come back to them later?

Are you talking about the shadow bats in the cave? If so, they absolutely can be skipped. That said, they still might need a rebalancing soon.

We're working on balance at the moment in preparation for 1.0, but those minibosses are supposed to be an extra-hard challenge that will kill a lot of first-timers, yeah.  The idea being that this introduces a dangerous element that you can experiment with in safety if you so desire (they are quite beatable with experience), but also introduces you to the idea that sometimes you'll come up against a seemingly impossible challenge and you'll want to come back later once you've prepared properly.

Nice having something like this to take you by surprise and show you that the game isn't always a walk in the park. I started a new world after the last update and played on the difficulty one level above default and it was just the right challenge. Took out the shadow bats but it was a fun battle.

Hope to try my first mission this evening to test the difficulty level some more, but so far it's feeling good.

It'd be nice if there was a sign/grave/note/something that said, "This room is optional!" since this IS for the tutorial area.

It'd be nice if there was a sign/grave/note/something that said, "This room is optional!" since this IS for the tutorial area.

In fact, there is a sign or a grave there saying "there's a lot of danger to the left, watch out. The easier path is to the right." ;)
