Ocean/Ocean Shallows/Coral?!

Hey there, I just want to say that I picked up AVWW on a whim when I saw it for sale on Steam, and I absolutely love it.  It has dominated my time since it has come out, and it is, by far, one of my favorite indie games. 

With that covered, I would like to ask for a little help in regards to coral.  Namely, how to get it in the first place!  I explored down to Cave System 3 of Ocean Shallows, so I unlocked it.  Now I'm attempting to go coral hunting.  Unfortunately, after about an hour of searching in oceans and shallows, I have yet to find a coral outcropping.  Can anyone tell me what it looks like at least?  Or if I'll have better luck hunting in oceans or ocean shallows, underground or surface, or what?  I accidentally got rid of my Acid Immunity enchant, so looking for it is pretty stressful!

Anyway, any help would be appreciated!

You'll find it in cave systems in the ocean shallows and continental shelves. Not necessarily in gem veins. It looks a bit like granite, so don't overlook it.

Getting coral is one of my bigger grind frustrations.  It's occasionally on the ground level chunks in ocean and ocean shallows, but extremely rare.   I think there's a bug where ocean chunks are especially unpopulated with stuff. 

Like Quaix said, look for it in caves in those regions.  It's still kinda hard to find, though.  I found about 12 pieces of coral after going through every cave for 3 entire levels of dungeon (easily 30-40 caves serached).

Thanks for the tips.  I'm bumming around in the underground of a shallows area right now.  Just curious though, does it cause the green dot on the mini map like Granite / Quartz /etc?  Or is it more like the background object items, like plum trees?

I'm almost certain it appears on the mini-map.

I greatly appreciate everyone's help, especially khadgar for the picture.  About an hour and a half of searching later, and I found a few pieces of coral.  They certainly seem rare in comparison to other spell requirements found the same way.
