My strategy with meteor defense is usually to just pick one stack to protect and mostly to try to knock the meteors aside instead of killing them. If you can get a good shot on them from the left or right, they'll move out of the way enough to miss your crates.

The high terrain thing can happen. You might look to unlock double or triple jump enchants or Ride the Lightning, if that's still possible to unlock on the first continent... I don't know if that's changed now.

Which spells do you use to push them?  The ones I tried generally had no push at all, except for the splash back one.  Thanks.

I use basically the same strategy. Lightning Ball knocks them away quite well.

Hmm.  I thought I tried fireball, but maybe I didn't.  I'll give that and lightning ball a shot.  Thanks!

Make sure it's as much from the side as you can manage. If you're below it, it tends to just push it back a few feet but not actually move it out of its trajectory at all.

I just tried the meteor shower mission for the first time and got my butt kicked.  What spells do you need to use?

I had energy pulse 2, creeping death 2,  and fireball 2, and those barely scratched the meteors before they hit the boxes.  I also tried Launch Rock 1 without any luck.    Then I tried Spalsh Back 1 and finally made progress since it would push the meteors back a bit.  But that spell fires pretty slowly and I had to stand almost right in the meteor's path to push it, so I quickly ended up dead.  What spells work better here?

Also, is there generally supposed to be a wall of terrain too high to jump over between the sets of crates?  I had to stack boxes to move between sets of crates.  Was this just bad luck?

You don't need to protect all the crates, concentrate on protecting just one stack of them, as long as at least 1 crate survives you will obtain victory.

You need to use spells that cause knock back "Fireball works great" I recommend having projectile speed+ enchantments equipped, that way it's much easier to hit without having lead the target as much. Try to hit the meteor into a direction that causes it's path to head away from the crates. EX: If it is traveling to the left, hit it further to the left so that it flies past the crates.

I'm happy with how even the less-commonly-useful enchants (I know I wouldn't normally stack shot-speed instead of cooldown-reduction) are useful in certain mission types :)

Projectile speed is definitely useful in general play, I'm currently at about +82% projectile speed on one world this makes "creeping death" more of a "running at high speed death", and energy pulse is so fast you can barely see it.

Edit: I forgot to mention the MASSIVE range increase that projectile speed provides.
