Massive continent
« on: May 01, 2012, 04:22:48 pm »
I kinda want to reinstall v0.540, rack up a huge landmass, then convert to modern. Maybe 4 or 5 overlords worth, because the current continents seem so tiny, visual aspect wise. Even the bigger ones can be scryed entirely on one screen.

Does anyone have a huge old world file they could upload for me? :3 pretty please

Just loaded one of my early beta worlds for the first time it's massive and has multiple settlements. Not sure how big it would be to upload though.

I deleted all my worlds every new build for some reason. Whoops!

I have a neat one with two overlords, three settlements, some nice peninsulas, and even some leftover pylons.  It is a pretty big file; any suggestions on where to upload it?  I do like it a lot.

Thanks guys!

I totally forgot about the "you enter a chunk at the location of the wind shelter" mechanic.

Ooh, this gives me an idea. What if continents had not just one overlord but a hierarchy of overlords, one badder than the next.

Man, these were so fun to mess around in, I must say. How much more amazing the world map looks when it's more than a tiny (looking) island.

Interesting to see how some of the older mechanics were still semifunctional, such as the pylons blocking movement, and the wandering monster bands being led by a bunch of player ghosts.

I guess theres nothing to stop a new connected land mass been unlocked on the Overlords death instead of a small island it could just be cordoned off with pylons or something until the Overlord meets his end.

Doesn't every new continent now get progressively larger, with more lieutenants? If not, they should.

But not THAT large! At least, I don't think so.

Okay, so I never played past continent 3. I kept making a new world every 3 or 4 releases, it's testing best practice!

Great idea this would really make the later continents tougher.
