Living Flame + Small room
« on: April 19, 2012, 12:21:15 am »
Alright, so, we've got sheets upon sheets of living flame.

We have a room that BARELY fits the Overlord in it.

Recommendations?
... and then we'll have cake.

Fire shield + running away + waiting until he switches attack patterns.

Tried Fireshield, went out and harvested plums (and plums galore!  There's 3 abandoned towns without foliage in 25+ chunks now) for it.  Not good enough.  No room to run, and they are all over you while he switches attack patterns.  I have a feeling I'm going to need a serious AoE to try to clean up the flames as they chase me.

EDIT: Oh, btw, before anyone gets confused, I'm not aggravated/annoyed/whining about the scenario/RNG hate.  I'm just figuring I'm doing it wrong and looking for alternative methods. :)  For those of you unfamiliar with my AI War AARs, I LIKE difficult.  I'm just badly stumbling here.

Cheers!

If you have any room, avoidance is key. They have a time limit of 20 seconds, so just stay away. You can use crates to block them pretty well, or you could use greater teleport to quickly escape to other parts of the room. That may be needed in this case, depending on the room.

Another way to go is to try and fight them, and for that I guess it depends on your confines. If its long and narrow then launch meteor could do massive piercing damage. Just don't miss. Ice cross is also good, but you probably can't get all the fire in one burst. Leafy whip would actually be one powerful ally here. Heck, even creeping death, if you can launch it and hide behind it, could work well if it's upgraded enough to stay behind.

Personally I prefer to run. I'd start with the crates, etc. When the overlord switches attack patterns, then worry about damaging him.

Good luck!
