Just started playing the game and received my first Memory Archive. What exactly does this do?

The memory crystals?  Right now... nothing.  We removed the memory archive in 0.501 I think it was, because it basically needed some rework.  But if you collect the memory crystals, you'll be able to use those later when the memory archive opens back up.

In the original beta I managed to level up quite quickly using memory crystals now this is not so easy.
