Improvements for the better - nice job!
« on: January 17, 2013, 01:16:15 am »
Hey all. I've recently played a couple sessions on version .716. Last time I played was on December 20-something. The changes are excellent!

The new monsters are awesome.
But more importantly, the changes made to the strategy overview are marvelous! They are so much more intuitive than what I last played on, and I feel really comfortable with the current controls. I'm able to use and understand it far more easily.

I've also noticed a large increase in difficulty - and no, I haven't changed the difficulty setting. When I first started, I died a couple times on the first turn getting used to the new mob difficulty. I am a person who loves a challenge, and that's definitely what I'm getting. Not only do I have to be more wary of monsters and getting hit, but the relation between my effectiveness and my overall strategy (especially in regards to positioning and which abilities I use) is much more noticable than it ever has been, and I for one love that!

Bravo guys, bravo. You've made excellent strides in such a short period of time. I'm having quite a lot of fun playing the game, both the strategy aspect and the combat.

If I were forced to criticize something, it would be the fact that it appears that directional attack keybindings were replaced with just pressing up+left, up+right, down+left, and down+right. My directional keys are WASD and I press the four ability buttons using my mouse. I find it a lot more uncomfortable to press W+A/W+S/etc than to press Q/E to attack directionally up/down of my facing direction, as I was able to do so with a previous build.

Thanks a lot for all your hard work. It's appreciated, and definitely noticable. You guys have an awesome game on your hands, GJ and keep it up!
