AVWW2 doesn't start.

so, i just saw AVWW2 on my steam account and downloaded it, but when i start the game, it just stays on a black screen, steam overlay works normally and i can alt+f4 out of it...

i must have waited for the game to start for 5~7 minutes and nothing happened, tried verifying cache and re-downloading and nothing.

i can wait for a more stable version, i am basically just notifying the problem, if someone can help me fix it, great, but it's not any matter of life or death.

First things first, I'd recommend either verifying the cache, or reinstalling the game entirely. Just to rule out any download errors.

I did read, but apparently my brain lobotimization I had this morning (read: Lack of sleep) didn't really help. Well if that's the case, I'm stumped and I leave you in more capable hands. ^_^

Is this windows or OSX? I'm not aware of any such problem as this either, so I'll be surprised if a future version fixes this if its not happening for anyone else.

Also, when you look in your runtimedata folder under the game folder, are any error logs there?

here is the log, and i am running windows 7.

as i said, i am ok waiting for a more stable version (3 days os steam sales and i already have 7 more games to play X_X) so it's no big deal

justing notifying you guys so you know what is the problem.

It's definitely an invalid install; it's missing key files. If verifying the steam cache doesn't work, I'm not sure what to say. You'd have to install our copy over the steam copy, potentially. There's nothing wrong with th actual version of the game you have there, except that apparently you don't have the full game for some reason...

My son plays this game without any troubles. OK, I must to recognize this, the game was installed by a friend. Maybe if you delete all and install it again will work!

Sometimes anti-viruses are over-zealous and prevent installers (such as steam installer) writing in the file-system. Another idea is to check permissions on the folder in case they are by some mysterious reason screwed up. Also if you are not running as admin you can try that too.
