The problems that I was talking about were mostly design based, not bug based. There are so many obvious flaws (every boss being a skeleton?) that its honestly hard for me to understand why people play AVWW other than brand loyalty, and everybody I know who's had the misfortune to play it says pretty much the same thing. So many games do the level up to infinity concept better, so many games do random dungeons better, so many games do exploration better. Its really obvious this wasn't a finished product and I'm still bitter I got tricked into buying it.
You find it hard to understand why people play this?
I'll tell you why: Because most of us HONESTLY ENJOY IT. Quite alot, actually.
Oh, the game's not perfect, of course. Balance issues and bugs. Buuuuut..... I think many of us went into it EXPECTING that. I know I did, after having done as much PC gaming as I have.
Really though, stop talking about your OPINION as if it is actual fact. Because it isnt.
You keep comparing the game to Terraria. And saying how much better that one was, and blahblahblah. Now, I liked Terraria decently enough..... for a time. Generally, I love Minecraft, and most of the games that take after it. But I ended up finding..... quite alot of problems in Terraria after some time with it. For instance, I SERIOUSLY do not think that Terraria handles exploration well. Not at all. Why? Because of the stupid way it generates caves; ALOT of exploration time ends up being digging. Digging VERY SLOWLY through 8 kersquillion tiny bricks (and that's WITH explosives and high-level digging equipment, mind you. Still takes WAY TOO LONG.) Because, aside from the underground forest biome, the game tends to stick underground walls and dead-ends EVERYWHERE. The digging is extremely tedious, and the amount of ores required to actually make something concievably useful is a little.... silly. There's also very little to do, comparatively, ABOVE ground, aside from getting the meteorite stuff and a few other things that dont take long at all, or soon lead into MORE underground digging. And, after all of this, eventually, you reach a point in the game where you have pretty much everything. You've gotten all of the best items, defeated ALL of the bosses. Unlike Minecraft, it does NOT have alot of replayability, which is the biggest complaint I've heard with the game.
I could keep listing stuff here, but I'll stop. I'm only trying to make a point: That good/bad, in situations like this, really ARE just opinion. The MOBAs you mention, for instance; hate them. Hate them ALL. Utterly horrid genre (to me, anyway). But see, I'm aware that that is just my opinion. Do I really honestly think any individual game in that is BAD? No, I dont. I just know they're not for me. I'm sure they're fine games for those that ARE into the genre. And Terraria up there, I dont have anything against either. I had some fun with it in my long playthrough, I just dont see any reason to go BACK to it. And you sure as heck dont have to agree with my opinions and thoughts on it, and I'm not about to start TRYING to make you agree.
As for this game though, well, if you dont like it, then you dont like it. That's fine. Not everyone is going to, just as with any other game. But still, dont just leap onto the forums for the game in question and start bashing it. Wont have much effect other than bothering people. And really, why didn't you just try the demo for the game? The demo is very good at showing what the game is really like, to make it nice and easy to make a decision on it.
I think there are a few odd balance issues with this game (and bugs), but really, I think this one is definitely hitting the potential that it was showing in beta. Tweaking of various numbers and stats and things will likely come sooner or later, and it'll get better yet.
