Handling Snow Pirate Patrols
« on: May 25, 2012, 12:03:21 pm »
I've been thinking for a while now, and noticed nobody has really openly addressed the Snow Pirate Patrol, maybe you guys could eventually develop a method to disable or take down the ships.

My idea on this is more or less a section by section take down of the ship before moving to the bridge to take out the captain. Working your way from back to left/right wing, then the other wing, then the bridge, destroying or disabling everything along the way. Once you take down the captain, which could be a boss that's sub-Overlord, but super-LT, and a set Tier. But when your on the approach to get to the ship, maybe have a boss rush of sorts being deployed to try to thwart your efforts to even make it there.

I'm sure others have ideas of how they want to see that same thing done.

I know that there is already a mission plan on the to-do list for this.

The problem is that there are SOOOO many things on that list that we just haven't gotten around to it, but we will. :)

I'm honestly not sure what the exact plan for that mission is, but I know Chris and Keith have one.

The mission is about half-done at this point, but there's a lot more to do with it.  Basically you inflitrate their ship and set off a detonator, and then possibly have to escape.  But we've got a number of mechanics to add to make all that work.

I was thinking it could be interesting if there was a way to use the ships after you liberate them (and don't destroy them)

If I was a smart survivor I'd want to take advantage of what I can.

That would likely be something for further down the line, but could be interesting!

Oooo, in the spirit of every Metroid game must-escape-the-ship-blowing-up-at-the-end-because-Samus-is-that-badass Sort of escaping?  :D
