Mhhh then I will let myself be surprised. Besides the procedural stuff i am honestly more interesting about the Story / Character Interaction / Moral stuff. ;)

Some comments on bluesnews put it in relation to "NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind"
( You can watch it here in Full Length -> http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8704790173215648057# ) as thats also the kind of post apocalyptic nature meets weird and magic theme.

Gonna be interesting to see what game you make this time ;)

Probably personal preference, but the music seems to be a out of place with the theme and visuals of the game.  Regardless, you still have me interested!
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

Heh I just had to rewatch Nausicaa after mentioning it and the name of the game makes a lot more sense now ;) Its even quite philosophical.

Anyhow i also noticed theres very sharp edges around (many) of the smaller objects (and even trees) which i think makes stuff look too.. ehm, edgy? ;P

Hopefully the plugin you use for the painterly look gets a do-over because those hard edges are quite a problem when you use it on something with already half-opaque elements (like grass strands) - i think this is also why i somehow think that the grass in the screenshots looks not, ehm, grassy enough. Which is where my question about the asphalt (from page before) came about. The grass doesn't really blend so well on black background as the plugin you used for the painterly look seems to blend to white instead to transparency, which is really not a nice thing to do by the plugin....

(Also i smoothed the jeep because i was bored and i can't remove attachments without retyping my post (how weird is that) so yeah ;p - Yeah, i was just practicing ;p

Ah that's what was bothering me about it. You put your finger right on it. They style is good but the edges tending towards white are keeping things from blending together well. It's giving the look of someone slapping together a bunch of cutout pictures from a magazine. Edges that faded to transparent probably would help to blend everything better.

:)  Very Awesome so far, and just a week in!  The art looks very different,  and the way you describe the game as playing in the other threads sounds very, very cool!  Looking forward to the crafting. You mentioned there 'may' be multi-player, that could be very cool to have 2 or 3 friends all join you in this long and involved journey.  :)

Cool stuff.  Yeah, I've found a handy free filter called KillWhite that is helping me automate a ton of stuff here, so I'm retouching all the plants, etc, and the result is much superior!  New screenshots probably on Thursday of next week. Trying to make this a weekly thing. :)

The sharp/white edges were one of the first things that I noticed that kind of bugged me a bit, too.  It makes it feel kind of like And Yet It Moves, especially combined with the (temporary) awkward character animation (which was a great idea for a game but not actually all that fun, in my opinion).  Cleaning that up and adding more objects so there's more variety will probably help, and it does look a bit better in motion than in the still shots, but I'm not entirely sold on it yet.  Some of it looks pretty good already, though, like some of the trees.
