So yeah, these guys are really tough. They fire difficult-to-dodge projectiles that hit quite hard...and on TCO difficulty they fire REALLY fast. So it's only natural I get one as a microboss in the first outpost. This guy hits for about 100 a hit and has almost 6k health (this is at tier 1 vs tier 2, remember). The only reason I got this far in the tower was because I magically used crates to teleport him a few floors up, and now he just comes back right to the same spot if I do that now. It's not like crates are supposed to do that, anyway... Only idea I can think of is greater teleport or something, but I don't have it on this continent yet.

Anyway, this difficulty is supposed to be the hardest, but this seems pretty unbeatable. Any ideas? Save attached.

Edit: I guess I could try running by, but I'm not sure how far I'd have to run to lose him. Or if it's even possible with the terrain...

Does sound like a lot of math stacked up against you pretty bad there.  About the only thing I can think of that might help is that if you hit him with blue-elemental stuff it slows him, and if you stack enough of that to bring his move to zero, he loses the ability to fly (drops to the floor).

I just hate Probes in general. Mostly because their beam fires for half a mile down the tower and they fire so much. X_X

Is that a good hate or a bad hate? Arcen did well in AI War with making lots of good hate options. The Hybrid plots for example....

This one is probably in need of adjustment, but Chris would be the one who would know :)

They attack from way too far away, they are turning into flying crashed land speeders.

I've never tried it before, but Clinging Fetor comes to mind. (Though I just tried it in my game and it didn't do any damage to enemies...)

Also shields are always very important but I'm assuming you can't get them yet.

Also something I would expect from TCO is situations where you simply cannot win, that you must give up and try a different way.
Try a different outpost if possible? If not possible maybe there needs to be a very expensive Illari power that will refresh the entire room/area.

I already beat it, I loaded up the world and realized quitting mid level keeps you at the same position you were at before...except you are invulnerable on loading in. So I waited til the probe got stuck and then I proceeded up the tower. Doesn't really feel like a legit tactic, more of exploiting game mechanics, but at least I get to make progress now.

And of course I have a shield, I'd be dead very quickly without one. Seriously they're so essential when enemies give you basically no health back compared to how much damage they deal. Even with a shield a tier ahead of the continent, most bosses hit so hard that they oneshot my shield and deal significant damage to me through it.

Wait, you can get invulnerability by simplying quitting and reloading. Yea, that seems really silly. I can see what design problem that this solves, but it just seems to introduce another one. Not really sure what to think of this, in the absence of any alternatives I can see that don't pose even more issues.  :-\

Well, you did ask for it by cranking the combat difficulty to max. ;)
