Yes, in many ways -- enemies get 30% more health with each continent up to 5, and generally speaking you unlock harder and harder region types and enemies as you go.  And more elites, which are also harder.  And so on.

On the other hand, you also get lots more enchants as you go, and you unlock new kinds of spells, so the quality of tools at your disposal is also higher.  In a lot of ways that makes the game more complex as you go, which is a form of difficulty: the enemies are harder, so you have to choose your own equipment more carefully, etc, or reap the consequences so to speak. ;)

Ah....i was playing on adept all the way through continent 3.  Once I hit continent 4 that finished unlocking everything but a few (cave level 10, 100 raptors, and 100 wisps) and switched to hero difficulty.  It's getting hard!

Yea, I was getting bummed out not finding any legendary enchantments yet.  Do the stashes get better?  Since the 2nd continent or so I don't think I've found anything very useful since and have been mostly ignoring them since.  I have about 40 bat scrolls, 5 ellusion, like 6000 stones, and millions of crates and platforms.  I spend all my consciousness shards getting 1,000 enchants hoping for maybe a legendary.

I like Hero, myself -- you can always change to whatever makes it the most fun, of course.  But I like some good risk, personally. :)

I think I was editing my post while you were posting so I'm not sure if you saw the end of it.  Do the stashes also get better?  Haven't really found anything useful in the past 10 hours or so.  It's almost always platforms, crates, and upgrade stones which I already have countless #'s of.

It would be nice to maybe find some blue enchants or something laying around.

The stashes do not get better per se, but the more of an enchant you find the better it gets in general.  The actual blue enchants are just better than average for their quality level at the time you got them.  So if you've gotten 5 of a type of enchant and then get a blue enchant of that type, it's okay.  If you get 50 of that type of enchant that's probably better than the blue enchant of that same type as noted before.  Then if you get a blue enchant at THAT point, it's going to be freaking wicked awesome.

Most of that has to do with the enchant containers rather than the stashes, though.  Stashes themselves have been heavily devalued by the store, and in general need more goodies in them.  Right now in the very short term our focus is on more enemies since that seems to be the greatest need of all, but behind that more mission types and more free-exploration rewards in stashes are right there on our list for later this week and throughout next week.  Those are basically our three big foci for the next little while.

MOST the time when I get colour'd enchants they all just appear to be "Jack of all trades, Master of none" and end up keeping a non colour'd enchant because the thing I want from it is just better (normally by a fair margin). This happens all the way up to legendary and I just think "lol what's legendary about this?".

That's worth a mantis report, methinks.  I didn't implement the enchant reward system, nor do I maintain it; Keith would probably be quite glad to hear of feedback of this sort.

I second this, actually.  Occasionally, I'll get some awesome enchants, but most of the time, it goes like this:

Normal Niche Air Enchant: +55% Jump Height

"Legendary" Niche Air Enchant: +30% Jump Height, -8% Falling Velocity, -6% Damage Taken

I would expect the "Legendary" one to at least have more of it's basic power, even if it didn't have other bonuses.

I third this as some of the times I get a Legendary Enchant and then compare it to LayZboy in my server and he is like "Lol, that it? Mine is twice as good" and i'm like "Oh...".

I mean it is odd, but sometimes I just thought that's how it is meant to be.

Since I intend to start bug-reporting more things which seem weird or not-intended from the game at some point, i'll be sure to do a Mantis about it quoting both Nano and LayZ in the morning for Keith to see if someone ain't done one by then. Like you said, feedback on the situation might clear things up for everyone.  ;)

Is it in Mantis? I'd vote for that!  ;)

Legendaries sometimes are actually very damn insane, and hit hard-coded caps on their own.
I'll post an amusing topic when i get home about this...

Whilst on the subject of enchants, I think the seeker enchants could do with a buff of some sort. When I have one equipped, I still end up getting lots of random ones without the power I want on it. I reckon the seeker enchants should have a low chance (like 5-10%?) of adding the power they are looking for onto any enchants. So you could end up with Double jump with a small amount of Entropy power for example.

Also do resilient forms ever give anything other than Light power? I've never seen them with any other power on.

I think i've seen a few with entropy, although i'm not too sure.

... Acid Gills with +water damage is kinda useless though.

My experience with enchants is limited, but contrary to the problems described above so far.

I have one blue and one green enchant that I got relatively early in the game.  The green is a prismatic wrath enchant with some minor optional effects that I have constantly equipped.  The blue is equipped as often as I can afford to, a 51% damage reduction Resilient Form enchant, no additional effects.  It's pretty severely awesome.
