Stand and Fight - A game about constantly running away
« on: July 10, 2013, 07:51:02 pm »
It just occurred to me, as the title song for this game played on my music player, that AVWW2 is entirely about running away, whereas the title song talks about standing and fight.

Am I like 5 months late to the party on this one?

Stand and Kite?
That would be a game about being much larger than a small child, and holding that person back with one hand while they swing their fists at you wildly.

Plus, while using Yakety Sax as the theme song might be more appropriate to the gameplay, it'd totally ruin the classical epic feel of the game.

It's just a bit of irony/idiosyncrasy introduced by this particular idiom/symbolism that has developed in the English language.

Standing could mean just sort of just "being passive", it can also mean being willing to fight in what you believe in. And in fighting, unless you truly are as durable as Superman, not moving is generally a bad option. And depending on the types of enemies you face (like most of the ones in both AVWW 1 & 2), effective fighting means moving more often than not.

It's not running away, it's retrograde tactical manoeuvre!
Arcen in Summary:
thank you so much, RNG
It aims to please!

Or is that "to kill"?  Hmm.
