Not going to open a defect for this, maybe somebody could explain.
So I have the facility to learn spells, and then I have the facility to actually make those spells.
I went to the spell maker facility after learning some spells, but it turns out that some of the spells I chose I cannot actually make yet. I feel like I wasted my choices. I almost restarted the game, but I thought "it's beta, who cares?" and decided to press onwards.
As I was...er..pressing onwards, I was trying to find my spell book so I could drag spells onto my ability bar. Where exactly is this spell book that tells me what I have and the path that I'm on? One of the motivators in the game for me so far is trying to find and make all kinds of spells, but am lost as to how to keep track of where I am in the process. And when I go back to town, I run into the same problem as before where I have to go back and forth between both buildings trying to figure out what I can do.
So my suggestion would be to combine both of these buildings with some interface tweaks that not only tell you what you can learn, but what you can actually build. If that's not possible, the area on the bottom that explains how much gems you have and what kind of spell you could make could also say, "you can make this spell!" Easy, unobtrusive.
I also have to say, so far I feel like I'm hoarding. Every once in a while I find something shiny, and I have the option of making scrolls or making spells. If I make spells, I get them forever, but as I understand it, if I make it a scroll, it's probably limited. I'm afraid of using my inventory on a limited item that I could have used to make a permanent item. For efficiency sake, I can't imagine spending something on a temporary item that I could have had forever.
How is everyone else managing their spells and crafting for these things? I feel like I need more help managing my inventory and planning, as if there is a whole other screen that I'm missing that would tell me all about what I have and where I'm going with it.
