Hi all,

I'm really sorry if this has been brought up before (I did do a search, but it's possible I missed it).

So I was playing last night, and noticed that one of the enchantments I had equipped had the following message "character name is to heavy for this enchantment".

It's probably always been this way (although last night was the first time I recall seeing it).

So my question is too fold.   First of all, how do I know that an enchantment is "too heavy" besides the wording? Is there some sort of formula or stats that I can review to determine why?

And second of all, if it's too heavy should I still be allowed to equip it?  I know it's a very minor point, but shouldn't something that is too heavy not be equip-able?

I can open a ticket with Mantis if this isn't as designed...but thought I'd bring it up first.

    Why all these restrictions on heavy players? Because when we want to have a platformer-type challenge, you've got to put on a heat suit. And that disables most of the things that would make platformer-type challenges a joke (you can't even transform into a bat, since the bats also take heat damage). This lets the pockets of fiery platforming remain unaffected while your mobility can shift in all sorts of interesting ways throughout the rest of the game.
This should have all the information on heavy characters. Yeah, the game should explain it too, but it probably got lost among all the other things, so it's nice that you caught it  :) Worth opening a ticket I think.

Thanks so much for this...I figured I must have missed it somewhere and I am wearing a heatsuit which explains why I probably hadn't noticed it before.

If you folks think it's worth opening a ticket so that certain items cannot be equipped if the character is too heavy I can do that as well.  Not a huge deal, but was a bit confusing.

The issue with that is that there is no guarantee that all the effects of the enchant are stopped by wearing the environment suits, for example the enchant i use whilst wearing heat suits is

+34% movement speed
-12% falling velocity

The heat suit stops the falling velocity part from working but doesn't interfere with the movement speed.

Hi Terraziel,

That makes sense, especially for enchantments that have dual purpose.  So I agree that someone shouldn't be prevented from equipping an enchantment where it partially works.  I'm speaking specifically on enchantments where they don't work at all because the character
is to heavy (for example +30% jump power...that doesn't work at all when wearing a heat suit).

Not sure the best way to address that...maybe in it's current state is fine.  Really doesn't impact the game play at all, other then not benefiting from it if you aren't paying attention.
