Awesome Mouse
« on: September 26, 2011, 11:54:37 pm »
Razer Naga

I've had this mouse for a while (it was a gift), but had been pretty indifferent about it.  Much to my surprise, it's perfect for this game.  I can access everything on my hot bar with buttons to spare.  It's very precise.  The lights on the mouse are pretty cool.  They can even be turned off if the annoy you too much.  It was so much easier to use than my standard cheapo mouse I was using at work that I just had to share it with y'all.

:)  Sounds very cool! I have a normal mouse, but am hoping to get a new one come payday.  :)

I use one too and it does work rather well for AVWW; sadly though, when I booted up Ventrillo to talk to a friend, I accidentally used all my mana potions before I realised they were on the Push to talk button. :(

Very cool!  I use the Razer Deathadder -- definitely a good brand and a good line of mice.

And hilarious about the ventrillo, too. :)

I'm still using my mouse with an actual mouseball in it.. it's ten years old :) Works flawlessly for this game.

Having spent an inordinate amount of time playing this (and every other) game variously with a traditional 3 button jobby (albeit one styled after a rather dashing red sports car) and on a largely unresponsive built-in Dell trackpad, I decided to throw a little money Cooler Master's way for a Spawn.

I'll let you know how I get on!

I've had a Naga since the day it released, it's a design I had been begging for for like a decade. I really have a hard time playing without it. Not just AVWW but pretty much every game.

Fear the awesome power of my mouse that's so old that this is the only mention of it I was able to find on Logitech's site.  Still works just fine, so I haven't replaced it.  It's somewhat amusingly paired with an even older third-party Mac keyboard from not long after they switched to USB, despite being a shiny new Windows desktop, because the keyboard also still works just fine.  I'm actually a little surprised all the switches on both of them are still as responsive as they are/not broken, but I'm not complaining.

I use a Logitech MediaPlay myself, and have done since day1 of release. On my 2nd now, although they're harder to find replacements of on eBay etc now due to their age. Although designed as a "media player remote"/mouse combo, I have at the end of the day 17 buttons on it I can use (Only use the base 5 and vertical scroll though for day to day).  Mainly use it due to it's shape, I've not found anything as comfortable in a long time - The old logitech Pilot corded mouse (3button scroller) came close though.

I'm not the biggest fan of Razer. Don't really like their construction quality, and they try WAY too hard to look all pro and fancy to the point of looking silly (Go read their descriptions on the website. It's almost as hilarious as Wine reviews.)

Granted I am a SteelSeries fan, which isn't much better in terms of farcical feature descriptions, but I do love their stuff endlessly. My old Saitek mouse finally quit on me, so I'll be picking up a Sensei in the near future (A 10 Megapixel CCD chip and an onboard ARM processor are of course, entirely overboard, but why the heck not? 8))

I mean, I know WHY they do that. The CCD chip is there because the mouse itself handles sensitivity and movement rather than leaving your OS up to it, so it's a lot smoother and the 10 MP chip makes it read a lot more for those of us that like lower sensitivities, it just seems entirely overboard to me :)
