I actually use the "Don't dim screen or stop playing music when paused." option in AI War for this exact reason.

Same. I often leave the AI War or AVWW on to listen to the music while I do other things. For the latter, my favorite tracks are actually the miniboss/Lieutenant tower/Lieutenant fight/that Egyptian-sounding theme, so I have to transform into bat and fly into some crag where enemies can't get to me, since my favorite tracks are in high-danger areas.

Will the AVWW soundtrack be available for purchase like AIW? I really want to buy it.

I know, but that seems...I dunno. Kinda cheating. And Windows Media Player doesn't like OGG anyways, and I don't want to install Winamp/connverter.

Foobar 2000 plays .ogg just fine, and uses a lot less system resources than Winamp or WMP.

I'm partial to MediaMonkey, myself.  It can handle winamp plugins, which is particularly nice.  That's what finally wrenched winamp out of my hands a few years back after I'd been using winamp for more than a decade.

Does MediaMonkey also play Monkey Audio files as well I assume?

I have zero trouble playing AIW/Tidalis/AVWW music (the ogg files from the game directory) in windows media player; I forget what ogg codec I'm using, though.

It's pretty much all Pablo Vega, and I found him because my sister went to school with him at UNC Chapel Hill.  He used a friend of his to do the live electric guitar performance that's in some of the AI War tracks, and he used a friend's mom to do the awesome live trumpet in a couple of the tracks (she's a music teacher also).  But beyond that it's all Pablo on his keyboard or drum kit!  And those with vocals are all done by him, too, at the moment.  Though some of the character speech in AI War and Tidalis are actually Pablo's wife.  He's really multi-talented!
