Immersion (about the loading screen)
« on: June 06, 2012, 04:30:23 pm »
Hi all,

I've only just begun playing AVWW but it's very addictive, and the whole random world creation thing has sucked me right in. There is this one small thing that struck me though. I'm all about immersion and the "loading files from disk x/x" screen that is displayed between map loads is messing with that. Any chance that this can be disabled somewhere? If I'd have the choice I'd rather see a slide of the world type that I'm in, or the last screen of the previous map displayed until the new one has finished loading, or even a black screen. Something I can change myself perhaps? Or can I be so bold as to put this in the feature request list? I should mention that I'm playing the demo right now, but I'll most likely get the full version after the 1.1 has been unleashed. Thanks for any info.

Yea, this should go into the bugtracker, but I agree that making the loading screen less prominent would be a good idea once the game starts up. (I personally want a nice large loading screen when the game first starts up, just not mid game)
Maybe shove it to a corner in a smaller font?

Oh, and welcome to the forums. :)

Thanks, and agreed. Anything I need to do to get this picked up?

The best way to get your ticket noticed is to convince others on the forums that your idea is a good one, then have them vote on it in Mants (our bug-tracker). :)

A better load screen would be better, yeah. Maybe a random landscape screen changing from day to night to indicate the loading?

Voted. Hope this gets used!
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.
