Original: http://arcengames.blogspot.com/2012/05/avww-post-release-1041-pre-official.html

This one is our third solely-polish release prior to the next official version, which will be coming out probably late tomorrow night and dubbed 1.1.  Lots more balance tweaks in particular in this one, and it's probably our last for the night unless Keith gets in a few last things.

This one has two standout changes:
- Much improved seeding logic for the continents and missions in several ways.
- Much improved Things You Should Do advice in the planning menu for new players.

Enjoy!

UPDATE: 1.042-1.043 are now out, fixing another world deserialization bug and removing a debug message that accidentally got left on in 1.041.

This is a standard update that you can download through the in-game updater itself, if you already have 0.500 or later. When you launch the game, you'll see the notice of the update having been found if you're connected to the Internet at the time.  If you don't have 0.500 or later, you can download that here.

Could Adventurers get a profession back after some time or something like that? Seems like such a waste :(

It could be something that we look at down the line, but honestly it doesn't seem like a waste to me -- if you have your "guardian power scroll" group of characters and your "adventurers" group of characters and you mostly keep them separate, then no problems.  As you get new characters that might be duplicates of those in the former group, you can choose who to move to the latter group, etc.  And later it would be cool to have a number of adventurers coming out with you to fight in some form or fashion, is my thought.

A new mission type which allows you to retrain the NPC as a reward might be good, especially if it requires a guardian scroll (with a resource cost) to summon into existence.

Agreed, that sounds like a good one for mantis.

Aren't Glyph Transplant scrolls a bit... pointless now? I can't think of any reason to ever use them now.

I can. If there is an NPC with the kind of stats I am looking for and their profession is not something I need, I wouldn't hesitate to glyph transfer over to them.
Sure, I could also just abandon my character (or take a dip in the lava) and re-roll a new one, but that seems mean. ;)

The change to make what could be causing "pink boxes" and what to do about them more clear, can that be ported to AI War as well? I have seen a few times where people have stumbled upon that in that game as well.

They aren't expected to live long anyway, lol.

Yeah, we'll need to backport that to AI War at some point coming up.
