AVWW is the first game I'm playing in a new YouTube series!

I'm starting a series on YouTube where I'll be playing every game,  from A-Z, that I own on Steam.
AVWW is the first game on my list and will uploaded first alongside a few others! I'm just in the process of sorting out my equipment and then I'll start recording. I'm starting with pretty low knowledge of the game, I've played up to the first settlement before and that's as far as I've got so it's all going to be new to me.

What sort of things do you guys look for in a series like this?

With a game like AVWW, your commentery needs to be the strong part since the game itself isn't that interesting to watch. It's definitely the player himself that strives for progress, so the observer is likely to get bored rather quickly unless you yourself are entertaining enough. That's really the only advice I can give at this point.

I would almost say it might be worth skipping initially and coming back to later after AVWW2 comes out.

That would be a good idea since then he will get maybe more publicity since people might wanna see how the new game plays and he could be one of the first players to upload a video about it maybe.

Pretty much this. I had toyed with a AVWW LP but quickly decided the game doesn't really work for the "typical" LP and getting it to be a fun experience to watch would probably take way more time, effort and editing to be worth it. AVWW is fun to play sure, just not fun to watch as a viewer.

I'm a stickler for doing things right so I think I'd hate myself if I skipped the first game in an A-Z series so I'm gonna stick with it...Though I'll definitely do AVWW2 when it's out. No question! I'll hopefully make the series entertaining enough to watch, and if not I'll have a couple other games running at the same time so there should be content people will enjoy watching, one way or another!

Although I hope to get some viewers, and maybe entertain some people, a part of doing it is for myself too. I've got a huge list of games I've never played, and probably never would have done. Now I have a goal to aim for...and if I get a few people along for the ride as well then all the better!

I'm curious... how many games are we talking about?

Steam has it at 176 at the moment, that doesn't include the games I've manually added to Steam which I'll be doing in the series too...Plus the Christmas sale is coming up...

That's my thought as well Probably longer, if you intend to finish the games as well.

That's the plan! I've set myself a few ground rules though...any kind of online only game will obviously be limited, that and puzzle games...no matter how entertaining a video, watching more than one of a puzzle game just isn't fun for anyone! So I'll limit those to one video.

Still...they're a very small percentage of my library...

Maybe just a level/mission each of single player games too?

I'll see how I get on, if I start getting some decent viewing figures, and the majority would rather I did something like that then I'd consider it. I'll start with completion in mind though I think.

Of course the problem with that is... AVWW is never actually complete.
