AVWW feels nearly right for the first time...
« on: February 02, 2013, 12:03:45 pm »
Hey all!  I've been playing AVWW since paid alpha, and playing it today was the first time where it felt really good for the first time.  I knew what I was doing, I was looking forward to doing it, and was having a blast.  In the first AVWW, I never progressed enough to make it past the first continent.  Today, in one sitting of AVWW2, I got all the way into sneaking into Demonaica's layer and unlocking T2 spells.  I think it's pretty much perfect at this point.  It also looks oh-so-much-better than AVWW ever did.  Also, for the first time today, I noticed equipment, and using it feels sensible and natural.

My one last concern is being blocked by things I don't understand.  In a couple of maps I entered, I was immediately stumped by the "You need swim dash to pass!" signs, with no idea where or how to go about getting those.  I also had the same issue with cold dispersal towers.  Some guidance there would be great.

Also, laser spiders are insane.  They appear all over hte screen from god knows where, and suddenly there are spiders everywhere, I spray and pray and am covered in health orbs, and everything explodes.

Other than that, awesome job Arcen.  I'd always loved the AVWW concept, and now I'm starting to love the actual game.  I'm excited :)

Yes. I hope that in-game explanation of this is somewhere on the to-do list. It was already explained to me on the forum that Water Dash is a selectable feat.
