So while we are on the topic of fireballs (hah), can we please get a damage boost on that that puts it ABOVE lightning ball and rock-ball of doom? ;P

Currently there isn't really any reason to use that spell - if you got rock you can kill nearly a dozen enemies with 1 cast, but fireball you gotta cast 24 times (because it doesn't 1 shot kill anything and it has no AOE,p) and maybe worse, because the spell has knock-back the follow up attack often misses.

So either throw rock is too powerful, or fireball is too weak ;p

I nerfed the rock.  The fireball power is where I want it at; it's the most basic projectile.  However, there will later be more advanced versions of the fireball that do a lot more damage, and when elemental damage in general comes around, it will also have specialized uses.

Think of the fireball as sort of your pistol in an FPS game -- it's quickly, cheap, reasonably powerful against single foes if you're a good shot, but not great against groups.

But if ye nerf rock you really ought to take a look at Creeping Death as well, because that spell does a ton of damage (ok, it has a long reload, but its basically the same thing as throw rock, just slower and without physics but with way more damage ,p)

Also, while i am writing stuff... you also ought to put a warning somewhere around that region with the shard-nodes, because that is definitely not a level 1 fight.. even if its in level1 region ^^

Also another thing...
Theres a way via rebinding mouse buttons to trigger 5 and more ability slots AT ONCE circumventing timers and literally casting multiple spells with 1 button

And lastly, there should probably be a No Friendly Fire zone in the settlements, because i killed all my guys by accident when i tested a key bind (creeping death...)

Whew, lots of notes there:

1. Creeping death and all the others were already rebalanced, see the latest release notes.

2. Yes, I'm aware of the exploit with the multiple firings at once, it's already in mantis like twice. ;)

3. Creeping death's main differentiator is to kill NPCs and other players, actually.  ;)

That is so tragically hilarious. At least there usually seems to be plenty of extra survivors around to rescue.

On a separate question, is there any point to old potions and scrolls now? The scaling taking them down to restoring 1 point only makes them basically trash. Any chance of something like crafting two (or more) lower tier potions/scrolls together to make a higher tier, or something? Anything that gives them some usefulness. I went from having a huge stack of lower tier scrolls that were my bread and butter for exploration supplies, to having a huge stack of scrap paper!

I really don't want to get into combining old stuff into higher-tier stuff.  For one, it adds yet another interface to the game, which seems like a waste of dev time as well as being extra stuff that new players have to learn.  For another, that then encourages farming lower-level stuff with ease to then make higher-tier stuff.

Basically anything that's about three tiers lower than your current tier (that would be 15 game levels) or more is going to be utter rubbish, and that's by design.  Being able to stockpile infinite giant masses of healing supplies for a very long term effect was never intended.

That's a good point, and it does give some reason to explore equal level buildings and houses now, which I was kind of lacking since I had found all the books up to this point. I guess it was just a shock to find things that had been filling half a bar suddenly doing nothing, (while surrounded by angry fire bats) and thus has stuck in my brain. I'll just go drop the old stuff in my trash tile.

No worries -- hopefully this will also solve the hoarding mentality for a lot of folks, too.  Knowing that you can't just hoard all your good stuff indefinitely is a good motivator to not spend more time than you really need to gather supplies at any given time, and it's also an incentive to use the spellscrolls and such that otherwise people might try to just save until a rainy day that winds up never really arriving in their mind.
