This one has the usual bug and balance fixes, as well as three new monster types: two regular monsters, and one miniboss.

All three of these new monsters are primarily for the ocean shallows, replacing the underwater-only types of monsters that were previously used there (and which are now deeper-ocean-only).  Although the oceans are also getting these new monsters seeded into them, too.

In general we're working on revamping the ocean shallows to have a better feel and to be focused on monsters that are equally at home in and out of water, based on a lot of player feedback we had on ocean shallows in the last few weeks.

This release also has a number of balance changes for some missions, including the meteor shower missions that were introduced last release.  And there are a couple of new graphics settings options for helping to narrow down performance problems that one might have.

This is a standard update that you can download through the in-game updater itself, if you already have 0.500 or later. When you launch the game, you'll see the notice of the update having been found if you're connected to the Internet at the time.  If you don't have 0.500 or later, you can download that here.

Any chance the ally minion scaling fix for battlegrounds is being applied to enemy summoned minions? I'm noticing tiny red fairy spawn have about 1000 hp, which is enough that they are pretty impossible to kill in the time between their spawning and their exploding, even if you could manage to dodge away from them the whole time. Also the green amoeba spawns, I recall being able to one-shot those previously, but now they're quite buff.

Hmm, the regular monster scaling (which is the same as the minion scaling) should be kicking in for the fairies and green amoebas and so forth. But that wouldn't make them harder to kill on higher tiers, it would just make them the equivalent of them being tier 1 and you also being tier 1. They were made tougher a few releases back, when they were also made fewer (in the case of the fairies), but that was perhaps a week ago. When are you thinking of?

This was just from earlier tonight, actually, fighting some T5 red faeries in a cave, although not deep enough to bump it up to T6. I do recall that they changed to fewer spawned and tougher a few patches back, but I seem to recall still being able to kill them in two or three shots.

Now that I think of it, it could also be the new energy pulse confusing me, since that was taking off a sizable chunk of health when it was slower-but-stronger before. I'm not sure.

Although the green amoeba spawn I have no idea about.

Ok -- I really don't think my changes would have affected the green amobas or fairies, as they already were supposed to use the tier buff and it's just one method -- so unless they were wrongly being excluded before, that would be the only way it would be changed. That said, it just becomes a question of desire balance; and with energy pulse being 3x lighter but 3x faster, that does make a difference.

I had no particular problem killing the small green amoeba bits when I encountered one for the first time earlier today. Not individually, anyways; they swarmed me and killed me about five seconds after I killed the parent blob (so I died, but I'd already won that boss tower).

I think I will start playing again in 0.913, if for no other reason then the fact that I love "piecing together lore" from in game clues. (Of course, there are plenty of other reasons too. I stopped playing when there was like only 3 missions types and all of them used the "boss tower" mechanic as a placeholder (though, it wasn't a placeholder for the boss tower mission, obviously :P), so I have a LOT to catch up on.)

Things are starting to move faster, in terms of adding more stuff.  The (apparent?) slew of bugs in multiplayer in particular is tripping us up a bit, along with remaining odds and ends in solo, but we're getting down to the content addition on a regular basis which is nice. :)
