I fired up 571 yesterday. This is first release I've played in a few weeks, and to be honest I haven't been able to keep up with all of the release notes so please forgive me if I'm retreading ground already covered. Overall, I had fun and I'm impressed how the game has matured in the past few weeks. However, I still feel kind of "lost" when I play. There are missions, and they're kind of explained by the pop-up text, but I don't have a good feel for which missions are important, or what I should be doing in general. Should I be exploring "generic" map spaces? What should I be looking for? Should I be building up my settlement? What is a general way to go about that?

I guess what I'm saying is that I know I'm up against an overlord and I know that "time" is a factor now, but I don't get a good sense of how I'm supposed to accomplish my goal. I had fun playing, but after exploring for a while and doing a couple missions, I felt kind of lost and without purpose. Are there plans to add more "structure" or direction to the game?

Short answer: yes, that's one of our major foci for this week and next.

Excellent, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll have time to keep up with the next few releases.

One question, is it or will it be possible to change the size of the cursor? I find myself losing it occasionally during frantic fights

Cool stuff.  Next release should be tomorrow morning; I'd hoped to do it tonight, but I still have an hour or two of work left for this one and am exhausted, so am signing off for now.

In terms of the cursor, you can't resize it but you can switch to the OS default (or have both, which is also larger).  But you could throw scaling of the cursor into mantis if you like, too, for a future enhancement.

So far in the patch notes I haven't seen anything regarding the residential and storage not spawning so no other guardian powers can be used issue. I have two current games where I keep doing missions in the hopes one will spawn. Maybe with the more relaxed flow of the game this won't be an issue but I thought I would mention it just in case.

For this, we just haven't had time to get to it yet.  It's coming very soon, but really all that blocks is your ability to use guardian powers for a while.  While guardian powers are important, they aren't yet central, so that's been a lower priority compared to a few of the other things.  But my goal is to have that fixed by the end of this week if we can, either way.

That's cool thanks for your reply the next update is looking very interesting indeed. Can't believe how this game has changed since that very first beta version.
