I was actually surprised how few "oh it's just Terraria now" comments there were.  But, yeah.

I'd rather be lacerated for plagiarizing... myself.  But I can't recall having seen anyone lacerate anyone else for that, aside from when games are too derivative and don't offer anything new.  But folks always surprise me! ;)

Yes, and it's generally frowned upon in academia and has been known to bite politicians in the ass.

If the guys at Dejobaan can get away with it, I'm sure this will barely be noticed.  I'm really excited about the change and can't wait until I have some free time to try it out.

I just loaded up AVWW and there isn't anything about a new update....

It still says Beta 0.561 in the corner.  :-\

Edit: Just reloaded it and it's there now.

I decided to try a new game for the first time since the original 0.500 release, so it was my first experience with the into level. I think there may be a problem with what is "unlocked" as I can't seem to make any new spells at the crafting station other than "Douse." I found 6 sapphires, 4 jade,  quartz and granite, but still can't make a non fire or lightning spell to deal with the slime wall.

You went into the equip section of the menu?  It should have listed at least one offensive spell of each color.  Or were you going into the learn category?  I suspect that was it; I'll need to make that a lot more clear.

Okay, this is coming:

* Updated the costs of douse monster nest so that it's not becoming available at the end of the intro mission and confusing new players.


Basically, you are only supposed to be able to equip stuff at the end of the intro mission, and thus it funnels you more effectively than it did for you.  There is even a special message that it shows you when you click Learn and you don't have enough resources for anything yet.  But I forgot you could get enough resources for this one spell during the intro mission!  Thanks for that.

I tried this update with my existing world which was level 102 in the old system. I found it very difficult and in the first mission I tried I came across tier 0 monsters is this correct?

I have since started a brand new world and it is much better. I will play more tonight and really get my head around the changes.

Has anyone else had issues with existing worlds?

There should definitely never be tier 0 monsters, if anyone has a way to repro that I'd love a save.

I can reproduce that 100%. I've got lots of T0 missions, and entering one of those gives a whole host of T0 enemies.

EDIT: Uploaded my world. I should be standing right in front of a T0 enemy

* Fixed an issue where old worlds could have tier 0 missions with tier 0 monsters in them.

Also in my world the tier 0 monsters seem very tough in comparison to my character. Haven't explored further as it became too annoying.

They may have been defaulting to tier 5, not sure.  The next update will make that not happen at all (they will be tier 1).
