angle shots?
« on: January 26, 2013, 02:23:57 am »
Guys, sorry for bringing up beaten to death topic, it's just currently things changed are too quickly (which is great for beta).

My question is this: One for the tutorial screens say "To aim at an angle, simply hold both directions and then fire a spell.  Doing this while on the ground will lock you into place until you let go of one of the buttons for easier barrages." This is not the behaviour I'm observing. Holding both directions does NOT lock you in place. You keep moving.  You only stop for the duration of the spell key press.

Am I missing something? Basically the above means that you can't fire at angle without moving. Ones you let go the spell button you start moving. Well you can, but it means that you have press three buttons at the same time and then at the same time you have to let them go.  This feels quite awkward.

You need to hold down the fire button before hitting the angled movement keys to lock in place without moving. Then when you're done let go of the fire button last.  You can sub in the walk button instead of fire to lock in without firing, but I never do that.

Indeed. Thank you for pointing this out, this way, it's workable. I'm guessing this still would be a problem for ammo spells but I do not believe that any of them ever require an angle shot.
