Will there be a way to enter caves from other caves?

(Will there be a story from the caves? :P)

There will be a four phase boss in the caves if you make it past the instakill spike lasers.

And plenty of angels, I'm sure.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Slightly on topic, I can't wait to see more of the Deep. Really really unsettling area in the first game. I explored it but I like, I just had to leave. Exploring there just ain't worth it man.

Honestly, I hope that Ice age characters aren't entirely abandoned. Over-represented in AVWW 1? Sure.

But they were iconic in my opinion, being the first characters you can make it would make me sad to never see them in AVWW 2. Maybe they can come back as unlockable? Secret characters? Maybe unlockable by getting far enough in AVWW1? (I mean, everyone will have both.)

... A bit of a tangent, but something I wanted t'get off my chest.

Cheers folks.  In terms of the ice age characters being iconic for the first game, I agree -- they were really cool in the first game, and hence why we're leaving the first game as a separate experience.  As for the sequel, the character roster is 24 characters that are completely new compared to the first game anyhow.  None of them happen to come from the ice age or the wild garden age, but I think you'll find plenty of cool characters to choose from. :)

I had my first character, Derrek Shrine (He used the Darell model I believe) for a really long time as glyphbearers go. I had the demo back when there were levels so he never got past level six but I was taking down level 14 bosses and lieutenants with him. When he died I was sad.

I really did like the Ice Age models and am sad to see them go, but you can't stop progress!

Whoa whoa wait
Does this mean that we can play as people from Time After People? Meaning, Skelebots? That'd be pretty swell as experiences go.

Okay, so not that time either. ;)  I believe those are the only three missing, anyhow.  There are I think four characters each per time period from the other six time periods, IIRC.

Aww
Time to unlock Skelebots real quick then in Valley 1. Gotta get my time with them. I like being robots.
So does this mean that, as far as regions go, that ice ages and skelebot junkyards and stuff are out? Or, is it just the playable characters? I can't say I'd miss the skelebot junkyard, but I loved the ice age buildings as far as gameplay goes, and

All of the regions from the first game are retained except for the oceans.  So, yes, ice age and skelebot junkyards are still there in the new game.

That said, all of the regions are unrecognizable compared to what they were in the first game: new monsters, new seeding, new contents, new time you first encounter them in the game, new terrain styles, etc.

I got a chance to play around in the new deserts today... WOW are they different. :)
