Just throwing my support of the mana-regen changes on the table, I've been playing for several hours and the game feels a lot smoother for it.  More enjoyable, but I think you need to rebalance some of the heavy-hitting spells so we have a reason to use the lesser spells.  :).  But obviously you'll get that done.

Namely, Creeping death is OP atm.

I'm not much of ones for "told you so" in either direction, to be honest; it's just not productive.  My assumption is always that anything can and will change.  But until I have a clear basis for doing something one way versus another, and I'm confident that the new way has fewer drawbacks than whatever is current, I don't make a move.

I could just as easily turn it around on those were were commenting on fire touch and say "you didn't make a very good case for something that is now clearly warranted," but that wouldn't be productive either.  Sometimes we just have to go through a trial phase and see what shakes out, on both ends of it, and now we have.

Seems like the system is working well all around, to me!

Agreed, hence my "being a smartass" comment.

It was an interesting experiment seeing what a shooter/platformer with no effectively free way of inflicting damage would be like. It just turned out that it didn't mesh well with how the rest of the game turned out. Still, it was a good thing to learn, and now you guys now have a better understanding about how mana cost distribution can effect the "pacing/flow" of the game, which I guess will be helpful as you start adding new spells.
