+100% damage ?

Sometimes when casting a spell, I get a +100% damage bonus when it hits the enemy (there's even a green "(+100%)" text next to the damage).
Is that some sort of random critical hit, or can one trigger it by hitting the spell a certain way?

I've seen it a few times as well, I think it's a combination of using a spell the enemy is weak to, as well as hitting one of the weak spots they supposedly have.

That's generally from headshotting things like skelebots, yeah.

Also kneecapping!  You can shoot the skelebots in the legs to slow them down for a bit. :)

Yea, there's a bunch of enemies with weakspots of various kinds.  And not all of them weak, per se.  You can shoot the urban crawler in the upper turret and it will jam that turret (which helps against the flak on the higher tiers), but if you shoot it in that big dorsal armor plate it only does 10% damage (unless you use something like miasma whip, since it hits both the armor plate and the main body).

And if you hit the clockwork probe with blue-element stuff it slows down, and if you stack enough of that to slow it to zero it drops like a stone :)

I'm so glad you said that. Somehow I hadn't made the link to water spells (despite using tidal pulse a fair amount), so I wasn't sure if i was imagining that happening because I couldn't repeat it.

Some of this stuff will need to go in the bestiary coupled with the scan spell.  Which the scan spell is already in under the hood (thanks Keith), I just need to get the actual bestiary interface in there.
