Hosting issues
« on: June 19, 2012, 06:06:24 pm »
I'm having trouble hosting a server for my friend and I, despite the fact that, according to the Network Help section, I have everything in working order.

When I hosted a server, I made sure that we all had exactly the same port. We both both forwarded to port X, set up our client with port X, and I hosted a server using port X.

I can join through LAN, but my friend cannot connect when clicking on my sever.

We tried using hamachi, but that hasn't worked either. My server doesn't appear in my friend's LAN server box.

Somebody please explain how I can fix this.

Only the host should need to forward the port, but that's not saying it's your problem, because it likely isn't. It's much more likely there's a local firewall being a jackass. The Windows firewall can sometimes be a real pain in the behind when it comes to these things. Try temporarily disabling it, and if that solves it, make a separate entry for AVWW. I'll leave this topic to others with more insight than me ;)
