Hey folks,
I'd hoped to put out 0.509 tonight -- and in reality, it's "ready." I put ready in quotes, though, because this one has a lot of changes across the board -- physics, save logic, and macro-game NPC actions in particular. Really cool changes, but if we messed something up I don't want to be asleep while folks are running into game-breaking bugs that don't let them continue. So to be on the safe side, I'm going to hold these changes until first thing in the morning and then push them out before I get started on the next batch of stuff. That way if there are any problems, I can resolve them quickly.
Knock on wood, not that there seem to be any problems. But if I release it tonight I'm sure it would eat everyone's savegames or something just to spite me.
Releasing in the morning is kind of like carrying along an umbrella to keep it from raining, heh.
Anyway, hopefully there won't be too many more that-central changes made in the short term where I need to hold back the last release of the night, anyway. And also hopefully I'll really be able to get into more hardcore content development with more enemies and spells and such, too; the list of ASAP-and-time-consuming issues has really fallen a lot in the last couple of days, so that's very encouraging for being able to move forward more with new content rather than tweaking and revising existing content so much.
Just a heads up on the plan. Night all!
