Okay, so I'm fed up with the issues over at A2 hosting. They were definitely a step up from hostgator, which was a step up from rackspace. Odd as all that sounds. We're now moving to Hostwinds. They talk a good talk, so fingers crossed they live up to it. I could really do without the site being so slow all the time. :/

For sure. You know, I used to build my own f-ing servers and managed our cabinet (different company, B2B oriented) in a big shared datacenter. I hated being responsible for all the little things after a while, particularly if something broke in the night and I had to go in after hours to have things up for our clients.
I thought that moving to somebody like rackspace was going to take all that headache away, but it brought new ones instead.

Wahoo! The forums seem to be working again! :)
Between Quinn and myself and the Hostwinds guys, we've got it going. I'm not sure what the final bit was that fixed it up.
Mantis and the wiki are still borked like crazy, though... and I can't post new stuff on wordpress at the moment. But one thing at a time, sigh.

The wiki is still in cache mode, and mantis is completely down, and I can't edit anything in wordpress, but it's progress. Also emails are not being sent from the forum, so there is that, too.

There were some posts made two days ago after the database got moved over, so there may have been a 4ish hour window of posts lost from that day. Sorry about that!
Can you make another post and see if it emails me?

I appreciate it. It's still not working, but I'm working with hostwinds on it now. For some reason it's not allowing us to connect out to zoho.com, which is where we send mail from.

The problem with mantis turns out that the database was not properly migrated with that one, either. So that and the wiki are waiting on database transfers and then they are likely good to go.

Merdemerdemerde. 4ish hour window, and my long post was just in it!
Also... the forum's word parser can catch bots trying to sell you stuff, but it knows nothing about French rude words! 8)

Nha, don't be sorry. It's frustrating at the time, but it's not a true problem. I mean, someone die somewhere in the world every second. I can get over a lost post.
