Is this a stalemate?
« on: November 09, 2014, 08:54:51 am »
So I think I may be in a situation where I cannot win (at least not without a huge amount of work).

Everybody loves me, end everybody loves everyone else. Which would be fine, if it weren't for the minor problem of there being a thoraxiaxian protectorate of the thoraxians and the boarines. The Pletians and Burlusts managed to piss everyone else off and were brutally murdered, but I'm stuck with an opposing alliance that apparently will not dissolve until I kill off a race that everyone loves.

I can't find a way to convince them that the thoraxians are evil and need to die, I can't convince the thoraxians that they should just come and join the the federation fun. I can't indirectly destroy the thoraxians without everyone hating me. What do?

You could try to sabotage relations between the Thoraxians and the others.  They wont all hate the heck outta you if they hate the Thoraxians.

Of course, that's easier to do WITH the Boarines, and you cant really get their help for that if they're in the Protectorate.

The Protectorate in general can be pretty irritating.  I'm not sure there IS a way to dissolve it that doesnt involve actually destroying the Thoraxians.

And it kinda seems illogical for it to even form if everyone just loves the heck outta everyone else as it is.  When it happened for me, the Thoraxians were at war with like 4 of the others, and the Boarines were really neutral... so it made sense then that it formed.   It kinda seems like it maybe needs a bit more in the way of requirements?
