I dont know how you people can enjoy this game. The font in 1080p resolution is SO ****ING TINY i have to pretty much smash my face in the monitor to be able to read anything. The game is basically unplayable. And if i lower the resolution all sprites start to get blurry. No option to scale the UI in sight.

What, nobody brought this OBVIOUS problem to the dev's attention ? Is he only listening to ass-kissers telling him how wonderful and flawless his gem of a game is ? Looks like it.

You should probably schedule a meeting with your optometrist; the font is perfectly readable in 1920x1080.

I can understand that having a UI that you feel is difficult to use is very frustrating, and if 1080p fullscreen is difficult to read for you, that is a problem that the development team can address. However, as i don't run the game at 1080p, i am not familiar with the font size at that resolution.
Do you know what the font size is currently? and how much larger should it be, in your opinion?

We don't ask people to only tell us what they like about the game.  A quick perusal of many threads on this very board (the release threads might be a good place to start) or the mantis bugtracker will turn up a ton of criticism.  Some of it we then implement as changes, etc.  Of course, perhaps the font of the forum is too small for readability too?

Yeah man you should probably contact an eyedoctor if you can't read the 1080p font . I've had 0 problems with it. I have much bigger/annoying problems with it in AI war, though.

Sure, if people want a way to scale up the font that's something for mantis.  I don't know if it's likely to actually be done as UI scaling is not something we've yet found a way to implement feasibly, but we're more likely to take the time to find a way if there's a bunch of people asking for it.

But, while we'll still process feedback presented gruffly or bluntly or whatever, presenting it in red 36-point F-words is not going to make us more likely to accept the suggestion

Aye, definitely.

Heck, I myself tend to not shut the heck up about anything that's irritating me until it gets fixed/changed, be it during alpha/beta, or after release, for any of these games.  I'm very persistent and ranty about it.  Amazingly, nobody's yelled at me yet.

If everyone just gave only positive feedback always, progress would not really be made.  Gotta point out the negatives if ya want something done about them.

That being said.... the font thing kinda loses me. I'm pretty nearsighted, but even I have no trouble with it.

But then, alot of things kinda lose me, so that doesnt necessarily mean much.

Just for the record I have said the font size is a tad tiny on a few occasions, so your not the only one who wishes for a much larger point size. However in another thread it was mentioned that the screen resolution was designed based on supporting 1024x768 which makes for some tight amount of screen real estate and thus making font point size constrained.

That said I'd really love to see an option in settings to override it, but I think that is probably not a high priority thing for the game at the moment.

Also I have the same problem with their other titles but it tendered to not bother me as much as it does in TLF.

Font's are always tricky business. Just stating you can or can't read it is not enough. You need to tell us your screen size and distance.

Or for example, Tahoma ;p (The imo best font)

Just showing what a difference 1pt difference can be.. you'd have to change the entire UI and every description everywhere by just increasing font by a single pt

Of course, depending on your screen the above images may look totally different. And that's the problem. (I made it an image so you can see how your screen displays font when it doesn't have smoothing. if you see color aberation (weird colors around edges of font) your screen is badly set up.

Either way. 14 pt / 12pt is afaik the standard font sizes.  But it all depends on your screen in the end...
