Centrifuge Boss What The...
« on: January 19, 2016, 10:55:42 am »
So I start up the game and roam into the very first connecting room and I'm faced with Centrifuge! All I can say is it seems a bit steep to see some much bullet hell at such an early stage. It also felt like a very grinding experience. Is this intentional?

Upper right hand corner of the screen is a map.  The level boss rooms are fairly large on it and easy to see.  If that was the only way to go though, that would be a serious issue!

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

Goodness! :o I didn't even notice there was an actual map.  :-[

I don't recall there was any other connecting door from the room. However given I missed the map, maybe there's was another one.

I'll test again.

Centrifuge on Normal isnt even close to as hard as it looks.   It's meant to be intimidating as hell.... until you figure out what to do.  Chris got it right away, actually.

I'll give you a hint:  the name of the thing is a bit of a tip on what to do.  You want to be circling this guy, slowly, at a distance.  The pattern will tend to organize itself as you do this to create obvious corridors to move through.

Now, Centrifuge on Hard, on the other hand.... that one is a bloody nightmare.

Also this boss wont appear quite as early anymore.   I've finally gated all of the bosses to floors properly, and this one, in the next version, will only appear on floors 3 or 4.  As with all bosses other than the Warden, and a certain other one, this is not one that's faced on every run.
