Application to Colourize Multiple Pictures?
« on: August 05, 2010, 05:54:09 pm »
I need to recolorize some images (pngs) for user bar ranks multiple times, but I don't want to waste in having to do so individually.  Is there a program that can perform this action automatically?

I have GIMP [and mspaint] but I'm not too familiar with GIMP and paint is just... well...

Attached is a sample image.

Appreciate any recommendations.

You can definitely do it in photoshop, so I'm imagining GIMP can also do it, but I don't know how.  In photoshop you'd do it via either Batches or Scripting.  In some programs they call that sort of thing Macros.  Probably GIMP calls it one of those three things, and usually you just turn on "macro mode," make your changes to one image, and then save that as a macro.  Then point it at a directory, load a macro to apply, and it does those steps to all the images in question.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the information--I have never used macros in any programs (I'm ironically lazy), though I thought they were able to complete a task such as this.

I'll see what I can do, thanks again Chris.
