Stat definitions

Is there any plan for a manual or wiki update that will explain the rationale, if not the exact numbers, behind things like regen and damage mitigation?

I already searched the wiki, and didn't see them.

The reason I ask is because it gets hard to balance trade-offs when you dont know how many Max Shields a point of mitigation or regen is worth.

Regen was vastly simplified through the alpha, and I'm still not really sure how it works.

I suspect it might work in the simplest sense~ Each point of mitigation/regen is worth a point of shield, you'd have some damage stored up to the regen value at any time.

This is my working theory:
Say you have 20 damage mitigation, and 80 regen.
While on full-life, you take a 150 damage hit. 150-20=130 is subtracted from your health bar. Of that 130, 80 goes to the regen value (shown in white)
Every turn you don't get damaged, 1/5 of 80 is added back to your health, so 16. If you get hit again, then the regen bar fills back up with the new damage.

Point for point, damage mitigation is almost always better than regen - but (1) you have access to a lot more regen, (2) a minimum damage always goes through mitigation. 10~20%, or so?

Your (2) is part of what we need to know.

I know what the word mitigation means, and read part of the alpha argument about it, but not everyone else is so fortunate.

So I went and launched a game. Normal difficulty. Leaderbot: 33 damage. Epic assault took 4 damage. Looks like 10% rounded up (more likely?) or 15% rounded down. I'll try with a Blunderbot in a sec.

EDIT: okay, I only have ~72 available mitigation, so I can't testthe max for 100 damage.

Not bad.

At least you're running scientific tests.  I'm too busy cleaning house before family visits to even finish my first game.

Thanks!
